Scala Theater
La Scala Theater is built on the ashes of the Ducal Theater in 1776 by the will of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, and inaugurated in 1778. The name derives from the place where the theater is built, that is the site of the church of Santa Maria alla Scala. In 1812, with the advent of Rossini, La Scala became the appointed place of Italian melodrama, of its evolution over a century and of its tradition of execution up to the present day.
Hotel Milano Castello is just a 2-minute walk from the theater
